Pick your spot, stream on demand, and a fresh new look

This is one of our biggest releases yet, and it is all about giving your studio more ways to wow members. With the new Spot Booking, clients can reserve the exact bike, mat, or station they want when they sign up — no more first-come scramble at the door. Your classes can now live on as a video-on-demand library, so members can stream a session anytime, anywhere. And if you run a martial arts or progress-based program, you can track every student’s rank and belt right inside Zipper.

We also gave the whole platform a refresh — a cleaner look and a new sidebar that makes everything easier to find. Behind that new design, memberships got far more flexible: a single plan can now mix different credit types, members can book ahead with their credits, and you can run guest punch cards that re-up automatically each month. Multi-location studios get new reports to compare their locations side by side, and front-desk payments are now a single click.

Here’s everything new in this release.

Scheduling & Booking

• Spot Booking. Let members reserve a specific spot in the room — a bike, a reformer, a mat, or any station — when they book a class, appointment, event, or program.
• Redesigned class roster. The class session view now has clean status tabs, a live attendance counter, and an inline waitlist, so checking in and managing a class is faster and clearer.
• Request forms before appointments and events. Send clients an intake form or waiver to complete when they book an appointment or sign up as an event guest, so you have what you need before they arrive.
• Control cancellations by appointment type. Choose exactly which appointment types clients can cancel themselves and which require a call to the front desk.
• Jump to any date. A new date picker in your calendar header lets you pop open a mini-calendar and jump straight to any day.

Memberships & Payments

• Multiple credit types in one plan. A single membership can now include several different kinds of credits — for example, group classes and private sessions — all on one plan.
• Book-ahead credits. Give subscription members credits they can use to reserve their spot in upcoming classes ahead of time.
• Guest punch cards with monthly auto re-up. Offer guests-only class packs that automatically refill each month, so casual visitors always have credits ready to use.
• One-click appointment charging. Charge for an appointment in a single click — directly from the calendar, the appointment window, or the manager view.
• Clearer “Change Renewal Date” control. The old “Extend Billing Period” option is now “Change Renewal Date,” with plain-language wording so you always know exactly how a change affects future billing.

Programs, Content & Progress

• Video-on-demand library. Build a polished library of recorded classes your members can stream anytime, with smooth, high-quality playback on any device.
• Rank and belt tracking. Track every student’s rank or belt, set eligibility rules, and manage your curriculum — perfect for martial arts and other progress-based programs.

Reporting & Insights

• Compare your locations side by side. New reports give multi-location studios a Performance Snapshot and month-by-month trends, so you can see at a glance which locations are thriving.

Customer Experience & Design

• A refreshed look and new sidebar. Zipper has a cleaner, more modern design and a redesigned sidebar that makes everything easier to find.
• A friendlier “already registered” prompt. If a client tries to sign up for a class they’re already booked into, they now see a clear, helpful message with their next steps instead of a dead-end alert.

Setup & Customers

• Import past registrations and appointments. Bring your existing class registrations and appointments into Zipper from a spreadsheet, so switching over is quick and painless.
• Easier-to-browse customer list. Your customer list now sorts by name automatically and adds page controls at the top, making large lists much faster to navigate.
