Move a family's studio balance to the person who needs it
Transfer available wallet balance between eligible family members, with a clear history your front desk can follow.
One parent has the balance. Another family member has the booking. Everyone is standing at your front desk, and what should be a simple purchase has become an account puzzle.
Zipper’s family wallet transfers give staff a direct way to move available cash balance between eligible members of the same family. You can put the funds with the person who needs them and keep a record of how they got there.
Solve the balance problem explicitly
A transfer is a movement between two family members’ balances. It is not a new payment and does not mean the family now has one shared pot of money.
That is useful when, for example, a parent wants an existing balance moved to a child’s account for a future purchase. Staff can handle the adjustment as a named transfer instead of creating unrelated debit and credit entries and hoping the next person understands them.
The sending member needs enough available balance. Funds already held for another purchase are not simply available to move again.
Start a balance when there has not been one before
Staff can also add an initial manual credit to an eligible family member who has no wallet activity. A reason or note records why the credit was added.
Adding that credit does not charge an external payment method. It records a staff adjustment, so use it for the situation your studio intends to record, rather than treating it as proof that a card payment happened.
A straightforward front-desk routine
Begin from the family’s account and identify both the person holding the balance and the person receiving it. Check that you have selected the right family members, review the amount, and confirm the transfer through the balance-management workflow.
Afterward, inspect both balances and the associated activity. The movement should be understandable to the next staff member who opens the account.
If your team is still setting up household relationships, the family-account guide explains the foundation this workflow depends on.
Keep corrections visible
Completed financial activity stays in the history. A mistaken transfer is corrected with a linked reversal when the receiving member still has enough available balance, rather than quietly editing the original event away.
That makes it easier to answer the question “why did this balance change?” days later, even when the person who handled the desk is not working that shift.
Keep cash balances and booking credits distinct
A cash wallet balance and a class-pack credit serve different purposes. Moving money between family members does not reassign a membership, transfer a class pack, or automatically change which booking options a client can use.

Family administration will always involve exceptions. This update gives your team a clearer way to handle one common exception without losing the story behind the balance.
