Build the audience once. Let the list keep up.
Dynamic contact lists keep your email and SMS audiences connected to current customer information instead of another manual export.
You make a list of current members on Monday. Someone joins on Tuesday. Someone else’s situation changes on Wednesday. By the time Friday’s email sends, the list may already be wrong.
Dynamic contact lists replace that repeated maintenance with saved audience rules. Define who belongs, then let Zipper work out who matches when the message sends.
Save the reason someone belongs
A static list contains people you add. A dynamic list describes the audience you want.
You can build rules around sources such as Products, CRM Tags, and Class Sessions. Email lists also offer All active members. Combine rules to narrow a group, or add an OR group to include another way of qualifying.
For example, a studio might want to email people associated with a selected product who also carry a particular tag. The rules describe the audience without requiring staff to keep copying names between lists.
Build it in the familiar contact-list workflow
Open the appropriate email or SMS contact lists, choose Create contact list, name the audience, and choose Dynamic. Add the rules, inspect Audience preview, and save the list.
Each list belongs to one channel. An email list and an SMS list are separate, even if you use similar rules for both. Choose a static list when the job calls for a handpicked set of people instead.
The step-by-step dynamic list guide explains the available controls and how AND/OR groups behave.
Check the audience at the moment that matters
The preview tells you who matches now. Actual membership is resolved when the message sends or queues, including scheduled email dispatch.
That means the final audience can differ from the preview you saw earlier. Someone may qualify later, while someone who stops qualifying may no longer belong. Editing the saved rules can also affect a pending scheduled email that uses the list.
Consent and channel eligibility still apply. Matching your marketing rules does not override an unsubscribe or make every matched contact sendable.
Use the right tool for the next step
Saving a dynamic list does not send a message, schedule an SMS campaign, or automatically enroll the audience in an automation. It gives you a reusable audience for the supported email or SMS send workflow.
If your goal is a sequence of follow-ups, the automation improvements address a different part of that job.
Start with an audience your team rebuilds regularly. A clear name and a small set of understandable rules can remove a recurring admin task without making your marketing harder to explain.
