What the Family Account Booking Experience Looks Like

When a member's account is part of a family group, they can book for themselves and any linked family members from a single account.

For Customers: Booking for Yourself or a Family Member

When a parent/guardian logs in and goes to book:

  1. Select a class or appointment from the schedule.
  2. At checkout, a member selector appears asking “Who is this booking for?” — choose yourself or a linked dependent.
  3. Complete the booking as normal.

The booking is registered under the selected family member but managed through the parent’s account.

What Parents Can See

From the parent’s dashboard: their own upcoming schedule, each dependent’s upcoming schedule (on the dependent’s profile), and combined family views where available.

Payment

The parent’s payment method is used for family bookings. If the parent has a booking credits covering the class type, it’s offered for both the parent and dependents. Dependents’ own booking credits can also be used if they have them.

For Admins: How Family Accounts Look in the CRM

  • Parent/guardian and each dependent have separate customer profiles.
  • The parent’s record shows dependents in the “Family Members” column; dependent records show their guardian in the “Family” field.
  • Each family member has their own registration — check them in individually.

On Mobile

Same experience — family account booking works the same on the Zipper customer app and mobile browser.

Tips

  • Setting up family accounts: See How to Set Up Family Accounts for how to link parent and dependent records.
  • Separate subscriptions: Each family member can have their own membership, or a parent can have one family membership covering all dependents — configured in product settings.

Troubleshooting

Dependent isn’t appearing in the “Who are you booking for?” selector. Confirm the dependent is linked to the parent’s account: parent’s CRM profile → Manage family → verify the dependent is listed.

Parent’s payment method isn’t working for a child’s booking. Check that the child’s booking type is covered by the parent’s product or payment settings. Some products restrict usage to specific account holders.
