How to Set Up a Custom Email Sending Domain
Send your marketing emails from your own business domain (e.g. hello@yourbusiness.com) instead of the default Zipper address, so they land in inboxes instead of spam.
How to Set Up a Custom Email Sending Domain
Video Walkthrough
By default, Zipper sends emails from a generic no-reply address. You can instead send from an email address on your own business domain — for example, hello@yourbusiness.com — so your marketing emails look like they come from you.
Why Use Your Own Domain
- Better deliverability: Spam filters trust a consistent business domain more than a free
@gmail.comor@yahoo.comaddress. Free-provider addresses are a common source of spam, so they’re more likely to get filtered. - Recognizable sender: Customers see your business, not a generic system address.
- Reply-friendly: Replies go to a real inbox you control.
Use an email address at a domain you own (@yourbusiness.com) rather than a personal Gmail or Yahoo address.
Before You Begin
- You must have permission to manage organization integrations (typically owners).
- Have access to the inbox for the email address you want to send from — you’ll need to click a verification link sent there.
Steps
Step 1: Open Integrations
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Find the Email accounts card.
Step 2: Add your sender details
- In the Sender name field, enter the name customers should see (for example, your business name).
- In the Sender email field, enter the address on your own domain that you want to send from (for example,
hello@yourbusiness.com). - Click Set email address.
Step 3: Verify the address
- Check the inbox for that address for a verification email titled “Amazon Web Services – Email Address Verification Request” (Amazon Web Services is Zipper’s cloud email provider).
- Open it and click the verification link.
- Back in Zipper, click Refresh verification.
Once the status shows as verified, your emails will send from your custom address.
Tips
- Check spam: If the verification email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, look in the spam or junk folder.
- Use a monitored inbox: Pick an address someone actually reads, so you catch customer replies.
- Update anytime: To change the address later, return to Settings > Integrations, update the fields, and re-verify.
Troubleshooting
No Email accounts card visible? Confirm you have permission to manage integrations (usually an owner).
Verification email not arriving? Check spam, confirm the address is spelled correctly, and wait a few minutes before retrying.
Still shows unverified after clicking the link? Click Refresh verification again — it can take a moment to register. Make sure the link hasn’t expired.
