How to Create a Booking Credits Product
Learn how to create booking credits products that issue credits when purchased. Customers can then use those credits for classes, appointments, or events. Booking credits are great for multi-use passes and flexible payment options.
How to Create a Booking Credits Product
Before You Begin
- Login to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- Ensure you have owner or admin permissions
- Stripe must be connected for paid booking credits
- Have classes, events, or appointment types set up (to configure where credits can be used)
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Products
- Go to Products & Services > Manage Plans
Step 2: Open the Create Product form
- Click the Create product button (plus icon, top left)
- In the “Manage package” modal, select Booking Credits as the product type — this cannot be changed after creation
Step 3: Fill out product details
- Name (required, max 100 characters) — e.g., “10-Class Pass”
- Headline (optional, max 200 characters) — short synopsis
- Details (optional, max 1000 characters) — describe credits, benefits, restrictions, expiration
- Product Image (optional)
Step 4: Set the price
- Enter the price customers pay to purchase the booking credits (minimum $1.00)
Step 5: Configure booking credits
- Credit issuance: Number of credits issued per purchase (e.g., 10 for a “10-Class Pass”)
- Expiration (optional): No expiration, expires in X days, or expires on a specific date
- Usage restrictions (optional): Restrict to subscription billing periods or contract windows
Step 6: Configure optional settings
- Customer app: Toggle on “Show in customer app and website” to make credits purchasable in your shop
- Forms: Require customers to complete forms during purchase (must include first name, last name, and email fields)
- Visibility: Set shop visibility and category
Step 7: Save
- Click Save. The booking credits product will appear in your products list.
Configuring Where Credits Can Be Used
After creating the booking credits, enable them on each service:
- Classes: Edit class → Payment section → Enable “Booking Credits” → select this product
- Events: Edit event → Payment section → Enable “Booking Credits” → select this product
- Appointment Types: Edit appointment type → Pricing section → Enable “Booking Credits” → select this product
Troubleshooting
No “Create product” button? Only owners and admins can create products.
Can’t create a paid booking credits? Go to Settings > Integrations > Stripe and complete merchant onboarding.
Credits not issued after purchase? Verify credit issuance is configured correctly and the product is saved.
Customers can’t use credits for a service? Edit that class, event, or appointment type and enable the “Booking Credits” payment option, selecting this product.
