Learn how to configure automations to trigger when forms are submitted. This helps you automate follow-up communications and workflows based on form submissions.
How to Trigger Automations on Form Submissions
Before You Begin
- Owner or admin permissions required
- Form must already exist (learn how to create a form)
- Sign in at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
Steps
- Navigate to: Marketing > Automations
- Open an existing automation or click Create Automation
- In the trigger configuration, select Form Submission as the trigger type
- Choose the form:
- Specific form — automation triggers only for that form
- Any form — automation triggers for all form submissions
- Configure timing (immediate or delayed) and add your actions (e.g., send email, add to list)
- Click Save — the automation is now active
Troubleshooting
Form Submission trigger isn’t listed. Confirm you are in the automation editor and that automation creation is working for your account.
Automation isn’t triggering. Confirm the automation is enabled, the correct form is selected, and that the form submission is completing successfully.
Automation triggers for wrong forms. Edit the automation and verify whether a specific form or “any form” is selected in the trigger configuration.
