How to Set Multiple Instructors on a Class

Assign more than one instructor to a class session — for co-taught classes, training scenarios, or when coverage is shared.

Steps

  1. Navigate to: Schedule > Classes, then Edit the class. Each timeslot lists its assigned Instructor.

  1. Open a timeslot’s editor and find the Instructor/event leader field
  2. Click Add another instructor (or use the multi-select field) and select all instructors to assign
  3. Save

For Future Sessions Only

When prompted how to apply the change:

  • “This session only” — one-time change for this date
  • “This and all following sessions” — apply going forward

Payroll Implications

When multiple instructors are assigned:

  • Each instructor’s pay rate applies to the session
  • All assigned instructors appear in the payroll report for the period
  • Check that pay rates are configured correctly for each instructor

Tips

  • Primary vs. supporting: If one instructor is the lead, set them as primary; the second is supporting. Pay rates can differ.
  • Substitutions: Use the Substitution Board rather than manually adding a covering instructor to the session.

Troubleshooting

I only see a single instructor dropdown. Some class types may only support one instructor per timeslot in the default configuration. Look for a ”+ Add instructor” option after selecting the first, or contact Zipper support if multiple instructors per class aren’t available.
