How to Set Capacity Limits

Learn how to set maximum capacity limits for events and classes. Capacity limits prevent overbooking and help you manage event size. When capacity is reached, new registrations are blocked or moved to waitlist.

How to Set Capacity Limits

Before You Begin

  • Owner or admin permissions required

Steps

Step 1: Open the event or class

Go to Schedule > Calendar, find the event or class, and click to edit it.

Step 2: Set capacity

  1. Find the Capacity section (typically inside Registration settings)
  2. Enter the maximum number of registrations. Leave blank for unlimited.
  3. Optionally enable Waitlist — when the event is full, customers join the waitlist instead of being blocked. You can set a maximum waitlist size or leave it unlimited.
  4. Click Save

When capacity is reached, new registrations are blocked (or moved to the waitlist if enabled). When someone cancels, you can promote customers from the waitlist.

You cannot set capacity below the current registration count. Cancel existing registrations first if you need to reduce capacity.

Troubleshooting

Capacity settings not visible? Make sure you’re in the edit view of the event/class and looking in the Registration section.

Customers can still register when full? Confirm the capacity limit is saved and check whether the Waitlist toggle is on (which still allows registrations to the waitlist).
