Learn how to promote customers from event waitlists to active registration when spots become available. This helps you fill spots efficiently and notify customers when they can attend.
How to Promote Customers from Waitlist
Before You Begin
- Login to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- Ensure you have owner or admin permissions
- Have an event with waitlist enabled and at least one available spot
Steps
Step 1: Open the event
- Go to Schedule > Calendar
- Click on the event to open its details
Step 2: Promote from the Waitlist
- Find the Waitlist section on the event details page
- Click Promote next to the customer you want to move to active registration (typically the first person listed)
- Confirm when prompted
The customer is moved to active registration and notified by email. If the event requires payment, it is processed at this point.
Step 3: (Optional) Reorder the Waitlist
Drag and drop customers or use the up/down arrows to set a custom promotion order.
Troubleshooting
No waitlist visible? Confirm waitlist is enabled for the event and that the event reached capacity.
Can’t promote? Verify there is at least one open spot and that you have permission to manage schedules.
Customer wasn’t notified? Notifications send automatically — confirm the customer’s email address is valid and promotion completed successfully.
Waitlist order not reflected? Save the reordered list and verify the display updated before promoting.
