How to Link a Lead to a Customer
Before You Begin
- Owner or admin permissions required
- The lead and the target customer must already exist
Steps
Step 1: Open and edit the lead
- Go to Contacts > Lead Tracking, find the lead, and click it.
- Click Edit.
Step 2: Link to a customer
- Find the Roster Link (or Customer) field in the edit form.
- Type the customer’s name or email to search, then select the correct customer.
- Save.
The lead is now linked to that customer profile. You can view customer details from the lead and lead details from the customer, and track the conversion.
Troubleshooting
Roster Link field not visible. Confirm you’re in edit mode (not view mode) and that you have permission to manage leads.
Can’t find the customer. Verify the customer exists in your customer list and check the spelling of their name or email.
Link isn’t saving. Make sure a customer is selected before clicking Save.
To unlink a lead: Edit the lead, clear the Roster Link field, and save.
