Learn how to create contact lists for email and SMS marketing. Contact lists help you organize your audience and target specific groups for campaigns.
How to Create a Contact List
Before You Begin
- Sign in at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- You’ll need owner or admin permissions
Create a contact list via manual upload
Use this method if you have new people you want to bring into Zipper.
Step 1: Create your list
- Navigate to Marketing > Email and select Contact Lists
- Click Create list
- Name your list
Step 2: Add contacts
Add contacts now, or save an empty list and add them later. Use any method:
- Import from CSV — upload your file and map the columns to contact fields
- Add individually — enter each contact’s name and email (or phone, for SMS lists)
Step 3: Save
Click Save. Your list is now available for email or SMS campaigns, and you can edit it anytime.
Create a mailing list from your existing customers
Use this method if you want to select people for a mailing that are already in your Zipper account.
- Navigate to Contacts > Customers
- Select all the people you want to be included on this list
- Click Add tags and name your tag
You can now use this tag group to send future emails under Marketing > Email > Select Recipients > CRM Tags.
