Learn how to create contact lists for email and SMS marketing. Contact lists help you organize your audience and target specific groups for campaigns.

How to Create a Contact List

Before You Begin

Create a contact list via manual upload

Use this method if you have new people you want to bring into Zipper.

Step 1: Create your list

  1. Navigate to Marketing > Email and select Contact Lists
  2. Click Create list
  3. Name your list

Step 2: Add contacts

Add contacts now, or save an empty list and add them later. Use any method:

  • Import from CSV — upload your file and map the columns to contact fields
  • Add individually — enter each contact’s name and email (or phone, for SMS lists)

Step 3: Save

Click Save. Your list is now available for email or SMS campaigns, and you can edit it anytime.

Create a mailing list from your existing customers

Use this method if you want to select people for a mailing that are already in your Zipper account.

  1. Navigate to Contacts > Customers
  2. Select all the people you want to be included on this list
  3. Click Add tags and name your tag

You can now use this tag group to send future emails under Marketing > Email > Select Recipients > CRM Tags.
