How to Cancel or Reschedule a Single Class Session vs. Ending a Recurring Series
Knowing which action to take prevents accidentally canceling your entire class schedule when you only meant to skip one session.
Cancel a Single Session (Keep the Series Running)
Use this when a specific session won’t happen but the class continues normally afterward.
Steps
- Navigate to: Schedule > Calendar
- Click the specific session you want to cancel
- Click: Cancel session (or Cancel this occurrence)
- When prompted, choose “Only this session” (not “all upcoming sessions”)
- Confirm: the cancellation
What happens to registrants
- Registered members are notified of the cancellation
- Their Booking Credits are returned automatically
- Waitlisted members are notified (no credits were held)
End a Recurring Series (All Future Sessions)
Use this when a class is being discontinued — you’re ending it permanently going forward.
Steps
- Navigate to: Schedule > Classes, then Edit the class. The Edit Class header has a Cancel sessions action for ending the series.

- Click Cancel sessions and choose “This and all following sessions”.
- Confirm the end date.
- Expected: All sessions from the selected date forward are removed from the schedule.
What happens to registrants
- All affected registrations are canceled
- Credits are returned to registered members
- Members are notified of the class ending
Reschedule a Single Session
There’s no “reschedule” button — to move a session to a different time:
- Cancel the original session (single occurrence, see above)
- Create a new one-off event or class session for the new date/time

On Mobile
Same steps — session cancellation works on mobile browser.
Warning: Canceling all future sessions can’t be easily undone. Always choose “Only this session” if you only need to skip one date. Before canceling, check how many members are registered — you may want to email them first.
Troubleshooting
I accidentally ended the entire series instead of one session. Contact your Zipper support or onboarding rep — depending on timing, some sessions may be recoverable. In the meantime, recreate the class series from the next session date forward.
The “Only this session” option isn’t showing. This option appears for recurring classes. If the class was created as a series, you’ll see this choice. One-off events can only be fully canceled.
