How to Assign an Appointment Type to a Location
Learn how to assign appointment types to locations so customers know where appointments take place. Locations can be physical addresses, virtual meeting links, or hybrid options.
How to Assign an Appointment Type to a Location
Before You Begin
- Sign in at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login with owner or admin permissions
- Have a location created (if not, go to Settings > Locations, click Add Location, and save a physical, virtual, or hybrid location first)
Steps
Step 1: Open the appointment type
- Go to Schedule > Appointments and click Manage
- Click the Appointment types tab and click the appointment type you want to configure (or click Edit next to it)
Step 2: Select a location and save
- Find the Location dropdown in the appointment type form
- Select the location where appointments will take place:
- Physical — shows the address to customers
- Virtual — shows the meeting link to customers
- Hybrid — shows both
- Click Save
The location appears in appointment details, booking confirmations, and the customer app.
Troubleshooting
No Location dropdown? Confirm you clicked Edit to open the edit form and that you have permission to manage schedules.
No locations available in the dropdown? Create one first at Settings > Locations > Add Location.
Location not showing to customers? Verify the location is saved on the appointment type and that the appointment type is assigned to an instructor who has availability set up.
Need to change the location? Edit the appointment type, select a different location from the dropdown, and save.
