Understanding Stripe Payment Processing Fees
Learn about Stripe payment processing fees, when they're deducted, and how payment deposits work.
Understanding Stripe Payment Processing Fees
Stripe’s Standard Fees
Stripe charges 3.4% + $0.30 per successful transaction for all card types (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc.). This rate applies uniformly regardless of card type.
When Are Fees Deducted?
Fees are deducted at the point of sale. For example, if a customer pays $100: Stripe fee = $3.70 → you receive $96.30.
Payment Deposit Schedule
Payout frequency is controlled in your Stripe settings:
- Log into Stripe Dashboard
- Go to Settings > Payouts
- Choose your preferred schedule (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Manual) and save
Payout Timing
Standard payout timing is 2 business days for US accounts (e.g., Monday’s sales → Wednesday deposit). Some accounts may have different timing based on Stripe’s risk assessment.
Pass Fees to Customers (Optional)
- Edit the product
- Enable Pass on Stripe and platform fees to the customer
- Save the product
A “Platform Fee” line item is added to the customer’s total.
Viewing Fee Details
- Log into Stripe Dashboard → Payments
- Click any transaction → view the Fee section
Note
These fees are set by Stripe and passed through directly. Zipper does not add additional payment processing fees beyond any platform fees based on your subscription tier.
